Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, Ms. Rodrigues now resides in Colorado. As a child, she relished the island life, spending her long summer days at the beach, playing with her neighborhood friends, and exploring her garden.
As a teenager, she was captivated by the natural beauty of the island and began photographing scenic landscapes with a simple point-and-shoot camera, especially during her leisurely walks along the beach at sunset.
Her first attempt at formal writing came towards the end of her junior year in high school. Her English/Journalism teacher appointed her as the Editor-in-Chief of the school’s newspaper. Initially, she thought the teacher had made a mistake because her strongest subject was math, but she persevered and learned how much she enjoyed writing stories about her experiences See More...

"This book is a delightful journey into a world of imagination. The characters are so vivid, and the story is truly captivating. A must-read for anyone who loves tropical adventures!"
A beautiful tribute to ohana (family) and adventure on the big island of Hawaiʻi
"This story is a tribute to the lives of Morganne as Hula the Mo'o and Troy the Mo'o with the strength of the Koa tree. L. R. Rodrigues' creates a journey that is healing to all of us who lost our beloved Morganne and Troy. Our children were explorers, loved Hawaiʻi, and enjoyed experiencing new adventures together in nature wherever they could. They loved the islands as much as they loved the mountains of Colorado. Troy loved critters of all kinds, but most especially the mo'o or gecko. Morganne was a dancer and teacher and especially loved teaching love of family and expression through the art of dance. Together, our children now explore paradise in the most precious garden of heaven. As a healing effort, I appreciate this beautiful and charming story telling a tale representing my beautiful daughter in a place she loved and easily called her home. She now resides safely among the Koa trees of heaven in the loving and protecting arms of Kekoa."Latest Blog Posts
